New Painting–horizontal and vertical

This is one on Lennox paper (22 x 30 inches)  I painted a few months ago. The black-looking areas are really a deep dark cobalt green. It’s that fluorescent pink that changes the tones and intensity of the other colors in the piece. At first I had a sort of minty green painted in those areas but I wasn’t quite satisfied–it was hard on the eyes to look at those vibrating intensities!

Yesterday I painted in the deep darker cobalt green and the entire piece seemed to come together. I am also working on a version on canvas and slightly larger–24 x 32 inches.

I usually prefer a vertical format, but for this one I link both vertical and horizontal—
